Sustainable Smartphone by Michael Mattana, James Paulius and Sayer Murphy is a minimalist smartphone design that comes with the latest technology ideal enough to power-up a smartphone.This phone called Sustainable Smartphone for a reason – because it uses fewer materials and its lifespan exceeds that of existing smartphones.
With the idea “back to the basic”, the designers comes with this Sustainable Phone concept phone. It is a basic communication device that caters to the needs of those who are prone to the elements, have special needs, and impoverished people.
Reading it back on Yanko Design, this phone basically uses a rubber gasket for water resistance, low trip force buttons under the screen for user feedback, large clean text and visuals for readability, and minimal materials and processes for low cost. Specs include a stamped aluminum housing, E-ink screen, minimal PCB components, lithium polymer battery, and a standard Mini-USB charging port.
