Do you know what’s in your water at home?! Most of us would answer no, which is unfortunately one reason why expensive and wasteful water bottles aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. While there are effective heavy metal water filters which can be carried anywhere and used to remove harmful elements from water, using them on a daily basis can be quite exhausting. Which is why by targeting the most commonly used source of water, the kitchen sink, the Smart Faucet ensures users will have access to the cleanest drinking water possible paired with knowledge of consumption, efficiency, and filter quality.
The design provides users with information about how efficiently they’re using their water as well as the contents of their water through a simple attachment to the kitchen faucet. The Smart Faucet houses a series of sensors that detects the amount and rate of water consumption, water efficiency, and filter status. This data is easily accessible to users via an app and online service so they are always in-the-know about their own usage as well as their community water source.
