Twitter today updated its apps for Android and iOS with new features, focusing more on search and discovery. You can download the new version now directly from Google Play and Apple’s App Store.
Firstly, Twitter has added new filters in search to help users easily find the tweets and people they’re looking for. The new photo search filter, for example, lets you see tweets with photos in a grid or list layout. You can also filter for videos.
The filters can also be personal. You can see what your friends are tweeting by simply narrowing down the results to only show tweets from the people you follow.
Furthermore, Twitter has added a toggle option at the top of the search results page to move between all tweets and top tweets. Previously, there was only an option to see the latter.
Last but not least, Twitter has made it easier to find out more about trends and events via a new trending timeline. Just head to Discover, and you’ll see trends along with associated tweets, as well as trending TV shows and nearby events.
