Comparison Between HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini

While going through some smartphone line-ups of Samsung and HTC, you would probably find clashes between these devices. Many devices are real competitors even if the South Korean maker has somehow managed to keep itself to higher standards. In this post, we are having a thorough comparison between the HTC One and the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini.

Both devices are well-designed and have not only decent but pleasing specs. Jelly Bean is rolled out into both but one of the devices being upgradeable to a higher version. Display

The HTC One is built with a bigger 4.7 inches Super LCD3 capacitive touchscreen display while the Galaxy S3 Mini has a bit smaller 4.0 inches Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display featuring 16M colors. With HTC Sense UI v5, the display of the One is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 2 while the S3 Mini has no such protections.

Storage and Connectivity

The HTC device grants internal memory of 32/64 GB and 2 GB RAM while the Galaxy device offers comparatively less internal storage of 8/16 GB and 1 GB RAM.

The One is enabled with connectivity features like HSPA+, Cat3, LTE, 100 Mbps DL, 50 Mbps UL, Wi-Fi 802.11, DLNA, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP and microUSB v2.0 while the Mini has nearly the same kind of features with a little enhancement of LE and EDR in the Bluetooth.

Camera

The camera of HTC One is of 4 MP and resembling 2688 x 1520 pixels resolution along with efatures such as autofocus and LED flash. But, the Galaxy S3 Mini is embedded with a little better camera of 5 MP having 2592×1944 pixels resolution.

One’s camera has got some extra features such as 2µm pixel size, 1/3” sensor size, simultaneous HD video and image recording and optical image stabilization. The front camera is better in the Galaxy device as it has a 2.1 MP shooter with HDR support while the One has a VGA front camera.

OS and Processor

Both the devices run on the Android v4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system of Google but the stuff on HTC One is upgradable to v4.2.2 Jelly Bean with the availability of the update. The big positive side of the HTC One is that it is powered by a Quad-core 1.7 GHz Krait 300 processor while the S3 Mini just managed to afford 1 GHz dual-core Cortex-A9.

One is also boosted with a Qualcomm APQ8064T Snapdragon 600 chipset and a Adreno 320 graphics processor while the Samsung device has a supportive NovaThor U8420 chipset along with a Mali-400 graphics processor.

Verdict

However, both devices are packed with good specs and features but somewhere or the other it seems like HTC overcomes Samsung. Well, everyone comes up with his or her own opinion and in fact, choosing one among these devices is a pretty hard task.
