Tasks That Every Small Business Should Outsource

Small businesses especially think they need to do everything on their own to save money. Obviously, cutting costs is a massive part of any business, but the smaller companies can soon get overwhelmed with all the costs. It puts a lot of pressure on your shoulders because you have to make money to survive, while also dealing with administrative issues. Don’t try and take the world on by yourself; hire professionals to help.

Accounting

It sounds obvious once someone mentions it, but accounting tends to be thought of a DIY task. The reason is anyone’s guess because accounting is time-consuming and complicated. The time and effort you put into keeping the books is time better spent by an expert who knows what they are doing. Not only is the cost minimal, it is also safer. Bad books could see you behind bars if the tax man has anything to say.

Banking

It sounds the same, but banking different to accounting. Again, it is a complicated issue, which is why you need to consult with someone who knows the industry. A lot of banks have dedicated employees who you can talk to about cash flow, loans, and alternative lines of credit should the need arise.

Phone Services

If you have an office as big as a call centre taking calls all day, hire a call centre to complete the task for you. There are plenty of companies that make a living from it and do it very well. They will train employees and guide them through the process, so all you have to do is pay a flat rate every month. Or, you can hire a firm like Zintel, who are a business solution. Zintel 1300 numbers, such as local numbers and business numbers, pass through an automated system and are then directed to an area of your choice based on the business rules you agree on with the company.

Artwork

Drawing is a skill that not too many people have, which is why it needs outsourcing to a professional. The difference between a small business that will succeed and one that will fail is a mentality. Some areas of your business you just cannot afford to cut back on and artwork is a prime example. Just because there is an employee who dabbles in drawing doesn’t mean you should ask them to design your company’s artwork. That is not the right mentality.

Social Media

Incredibly important in the modern era, you have to know what you are doing with regards to social media. It is a great way to advertise and stay connected, but you can’t do it once every blue moon. You have to keep your finger on the pulse and converse daily on Twitter, Facebook, etc. Trust me. There is a university student/graduate somewhere who would love to get paid to post, comment or respond to articles.

Don’t let your ego and pride get in the way. Outsource these tasks and your business will run smoothly and efficiently. That means more growth and a better chance of succeeding.
